Why Did Google Start to Make Ads For Promoting its Search In India

Is Google search and SEO future not safe in India? It can be happen, not in present but in future because of Social Media & Mobile apps popularity in India.

That is why for future perspective Google India started to make ads for promoting its Search in India.

Google started with a beautiful ad few days back about 2 best friends before India & Pakistan partition. A granddaughter of Indian guy decides to surprise her grandfather on his birthday by reuniting him with his childhood friend (who is now in Pakistan) after over 6 decades of separation, with a little help from Google Search. Please watch this very beautiful & touching video which has already gained over 7 million views in 15 days since it was released.

But the main question is why did Google start to promote its search? Is google scare with Smart phone apps, Facebook(Graph search) & twitter(Top trends)?

Famous Twitter influencer Ramesh Srivats's tweet give indication about google's frustration

After this reunion ad, Google already launched 5 more search related ads. This indicates that google is feeling insecure for its search performance in India where it has more than 97% market share.

Google started its search ads promotion because of below reason
  • Now a days if we want any current & ongoing incident, we can directly login in our twitter & will get latest update. For Example: Cricket match live update - Just follow any sports channel or news channel and get all live score update. Check google's this below ad. Will google get audience?
 Google Search: Cricket, फट से

  • Smart Phone applications: Now a days 75% people use smart phone with all latest applications ( Literature, Movies, Air Ticket, Songs, Chats, Hotels, Online shopping etc). Check this ad of google. Is google scare because of Online shopping portals(mobile apps - Flipkart, Jabong, IndiaPlaza, Homeshop18 etc)
                  Google Search: Anarkali, शेह-मात

  • Facebook(Graph search, Places, Check ins, Official pages)/ Twitter(Official Accounts/Verified celebrity accounts) : Before 1 or 2 years ago, if we want to know about place, we directly open google search page but now a days mostly people login in their facebook and search about places(Hotel, Company, Bar, Night Club, Disco, Colleges, School, Temples etc). Same think in twitter, just follow our favorite celebrity or product and will get to know all latest updates about them
  • Google used mobile in its all 5 ads. Why so?:Google search traffic down because of only mobile apps and also google knows in future desktop market will be very less as compare to smart phone
                       Google Search: Fennel, क्या होता हैं

Google ads with greate emotional touch but this thing is very clear that Google’s biggest worry  is Smart phone applications & social media(Facebook,Twitter)

Calls to Action on Twitter can be effective . Just try

You ever feel that you can use "call to action" in your tweets. Its an experiment but you should try to increase your engagement?

#1: Ask for a download
If you want to promote your new product that is available for download. Make your tweet & ask people to download.Give people clear direction and incentive to click on the link you provide in a Tweet. Use hashtags and @handle mentions sparingly to keep clicks focused on one action: downloads. You can create a sense of urgency by including a deadline.

#2: Ask for a Retweet
Include valid reason to retweet your messages. Use the word ‘Retweet’ instead of simply using ‘RT’ as the bottom performing Promoted Tweets. Use 'Retweet' at the beginning instead of at the end of the Tweet. Keep formatting clear and simple so people know exactly what you want them to do: share your message.

#3: Ask for a follow
If you want to extend your reach to new audiences on Twitter? It can be as simple as asking for a follow. Highlight the exclusive content you are offering. For example : Check what goes on behind the scenes Or Offer some prize

#4: Ask for a reply
Want to increase a conversation with Twitter users? Ask a question & give people some motivation to engage 1-on-1 with your tweet.
Get users interested by getting personal in your tweets. Always use a conversational tone to humanize your campaign & make twitter users feel comfortable responding to you via an @reply.
To maximize the responses you get, combine the question with a contest or other exclusive incentive.

Twitter, Google+ or Facebook!! What do you think?

Some people think that Google+ will replace Facebook and Twitter. I do not see it that way at all. Twitter, Google+ and Facebook have their own audiences and optimal type of content:

Facebook
Content: Funny, personal, opinion
Network focus: family, friends, schoolmates

Twitter
Content: short, information, links, thoughts
Network focus: acquaintances, random strangers, co-workers

Google+
Content: questions, discussion starters, stories
Network focus: early adopters, friends

When I want to start a discussion (like this) I use Google+ because it is easy for people to see each other comments and reply to each other and me. That doesn't work well on Twitter.

I wouldn't post my Foursquare check-in to Google+.
I would post a photo of my vacation on Facebook but not on Twitter.

On Facebook people can see your comments but you kinda keep the conversation light because your high-school friends and family are there too.

Twitter is cool if you have a question that only you need and answer to but because it is so much harder to see everybody's replies you use it differently.

With each network optimized for a separate function I see enough room for networks to co-exist. What do you think?
